چکیده
This research work focused on the production of biofuel from orange peels using Bacillus subtilis as a fermentor. The were collected Ekeukwu market and Ihiagwa fruit center, Owerri Nigeria, sun dried grinded manually to powder. sample was further fermented for 8days subtilis, after which it distilled 6 hours in order extract biofuel.Analysis ethanol compostion carried out gas chromatography. The parameters measured include pH, concentration reducing sugar before fermentation well characterization produced. Results shows that 200g produced 400ml 8th day percentage component are Ethanol (48.73%), Methane (26.89%), Methanol (17.22%), Carbon dioxide (7.15%), Phenol (0.005%) while control did not produce any biofuel. From study observed has highest phenol least. peel 11.678 mg/l 73.899 respectively. It also this ideal pH obtain reasonable quantity ranges 5.0 – 5.3. presents an alternative, cheap, environmental friendly readily available option use place fossil fuels. The result showed liquid fuel (bioethanol) can be distillation peelsI therefore recommend studies finding efficient processes methods increasing yield agro-waste.

Biochar from Orange (citrus sinensis) Peels by Acid Activation for Methylene Blue Adsorption
In this work, orange (Citrus sinensis) peels biochar (OPBC) were prepared by one-step H2SO4 activation for Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of OPBC were characterized using instrumental analyses such as CHNS-O analyzer, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffract...
متن کاملUlcer protective potential of standardized hesperidin, a citrus flavonoid isolated from Citrus sinensis
Free radicals play an important role in stomach ulcer formation. The present investigation validates the anti ulcer activity of hesperidin, isolated from Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck, Rutaceae, through the assessment of its antioxidant potential over stomach mucosal tissue by histological examination. Hesperidin was isolated from the dried peel of C. sinensis, and authenticated by TLC, IR and HP...
متن کاملPotential of lipid metabolism in marine diatoms for biofuel production
BACKGROUND Diatoms are an ecologically relevant group of microalgae that are not commonly considered for bio-oil production even if they are responsible for massive blooms at sea. Seventeen diatom species were screened for their capacity to produce biomass and lipids, in relation to their growth rate. Triglyceride levels were also assessed as a preferential source of biofuels. RESULTS Using s...
متن کاملThe potential of C4 grasses for cellulosic biofuel production
With the advent of biorefinery technologies enabling plant biomass to be processed into biofuel, many researchers set out to study and improve candidate biomass crops. Many of these candidates are C4 grasses, characterized by a high productivity and resource use efficiency. In this review the potential of five C4 grasses as lignocellulosic feedstock for biofuel production is discussed. These in...
متن کاملTetraploidy Enhances Boron-Excess Tolerance in Carrizo Citrange (Citrus sinensis L. Osb. × Poncirus trifoliata L. Raf.)
UNLABELLED Tetraploidy modifies root anatomy which may lead to differentiated capacity to uptake and transport mineral elements. This work provides insights into physiological and molecular characters involved in boron (B) toxicity responses in diploid (2x) and tetraploid (4x) plants of Carrizo citrange (Citrus sinensis L. Osb. × Poncirus trifoliata L. Raf.), a widely used citrus rootstock. Wit...
